O.R. Nurses, Inc. is an independently, nurse owned and operated specialty agency, employing medical professionals and providing excellence in temporary supplemental staffing. Denise G. Burnett, RN, BSN is President and has owned the company since 1990.
O.R. Nurses, Inc. was founded in July, 1988 by Carol Paterson, RN. Carol had a vision for excellence in the temporary perioperative specialty staffing business. Denise G. Burnett, RN. BSN caught the vision and joined the company shortly thereafter, staffing the first shift on August 1, 1988.
On August 16, 1990 Carol Paterson died after a 13-month battle with ovarian cancer. She did, however, get to see her dream of O.R. Nurses, Inc. become a reality as it developed into a viable company. She would be proud to see how we have grown in size and excellence over the years. You can be proud to be affiliated with the BEST professionals in the temporary staffing business- local, regional and travel!
The Mission Statement of O.R. Nurses, Inc. is “to assist our client with uncompromising quality patient care, by providing medical professionals who demonstrate excellence in temporary staffing, and doing so in the most cost-effective manner that benefits both the client and the patient”.

The Travel Division was established in 1998 when an employee was having to relocate to another city. Disappointed to be leaving the employment of O.R. Nurses, Inc. she was given the opportunity to be the first traveler. The Travel Division has grown and is obtaining new opportunities daily.

O.R. Nurses, Inc.’s Education Division, T.I.M.E. – Training Individuals for Medical Excellence™, officially opened in May 2004 and was designated as a Community Training Center with the American Heart Association. We offer free CPR Recertification courses for our professionals in the corporate Memphis office twice a month.

Nurses, Inc. is a member of the Association of Nurse Executives (AONE), the Association of PeriOperative Nurses (AORN),the National Association of Travel Healthcare Organizations (NATHO), Germantown Chamber of Commerce, the Greater Memphis Chamber, National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO), the Society of Entrepreneurs sponsored Insight Group (SOE) and holds the Women's Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) certification.
